Why Choose an In-Home Newborn Session?

I offer life-style, in-home newborn sessions. This means, that you don't have to worry about getting to a studio, there is a more relaxed time-frame for getting these done than traditional/posed newborn photos, and instead can relax in the comfort of your home.

From a client perspective, I have had booked a traditional/posed newborn session and a lifestyle session for my own kiddos. While I loved both, it was the lifestyle session that captured my heart because it was within our own space. I have photos documenting the nursery that I spent so much time putting together. Even more importantly, the majority of the photos are focused on connection or details. This was differently than the traditional photos that I received of my daughter. For that session, the focus was on capturing beautiful poses of the newborn with a few family photos thrown in. I have to say that I preferred the lifestyle gallery because of the focus on connection. As a postpartum mom, I also loved that our photographer came to us- an added bonus since I had two small children to wrangle as well.

I will bring dresses for mom, outfits for baby, and any clothes for your other children, so you do not need to worry about having outfits (and can save money on that). My newborn sessions are baby-led, meaning we stop as much as needed for baby to feed or for your other children to take a break. Sessions tend on average to be 2 hours. However, if needed, I will stay longer. I shoot where the light is the best but generally like to utilize the living room, sometimes the kitchen, master bedroom and nursery. If weather is warm, clients also have the option of doing an outdoor newborn session. Take a look at these photos from a recent winter newborn session.
